The Dickson Store Museum has filled all positions in 2017.

The Dickson Store Museum is now accepting applications for summer staff positions. We are seeking customer orientated, self-motivated team players. Applicants must be students attending college, university, or high school (due to grant requirements). You will benefit from working in a multifaceted fun environment while learning new skills. Enjoy your summer while giving tours, delivering educational programs, planning special days, and conversing with customers while you scoop their ice cream or they make purchases from the gift shop.  Location: Central Alberta in the Hamlet of Dickson. 2 miles south of Spruce View, Alberta on Range Road 31. Approximately 20 minutes west of Innisfail.

Seasonal Historical Interpreters

May – September –40 hours per week
Weekend work required
Job Description:
Conduct guided tours and interpret the history of the site
Deliver Educational Programs
Assist with collection and cataloguing of artifacts
Plan and host special days
Service ice cream and assist in the operation of the gift shop
Routine cleaning and maintenance (indoor and outdoor)
General office duties

Qualifications:
Excellent oral and written communications
Customer Service
Good computer and organizing skills
Self-motivated
Energetic, positive, and enthusiastic
Applicants must be continuing their education

Assets:
Money Handling Skills
First Aid Certification

Seasonal Site Maintanence/Interpreter

May – September –40 hours per week
Weekend work required

Job Description: Applicant will be responsible for maintaining the Museum property which includes mowing grass, raking, weeding, edging, pruning, painting, minor repairs, window washing, cleaning building/picnic tables.  This job also includes assisting in the daily operations of the museum including tours and ice cream/gift shop sales.
